Corduroy is one of those materials that is just made for the fall season. It is durable and warm and just generally has a fall look to it. I remember wearing corduroy when I was younger that definitely had a 90’s feel to it, but now there are so many stylish and classic ways to style corduroy for fall.
Yesterday I did some outlet shopping and J Crew Factory is a store I always go in when I am at the outlets. I think they have such great deals and of course some good classic pieces. I spotted this mustard yellow corduroy dress and I thought it would be a perfect addition to my fall wardrobe. Mustard yellow is always a good choice for the season and so is corduroy. I love the style of this dress because it has the ability to be dressed up or down depending on your occasion and has a slight preppy style.
This dress would look great with a neutral-colored turtleneck sweater and a pair of leopard print or cognac booties. Another great style is to wear a plaid button-down shirt under the dress and finish the outfit with a pair of sleek flats. Since the weather has still been quite warm here in Pittsburgh, I wore more of a transitional outfit and paired a lightweight navy sweater underneath and finished the outfit with taupe slide-on heeled mules.
Just about every retailer has corduroy right now, so I have included a few other picks below of corduroy items I am loving:
Corduroy Mini Skirt, Gap, $49.50:
High-Rise Skinny Corduroy Pant, Banana Republic, $98.50:
Corduroy One-Button Blazer, NY&C, $89.95:
Belted Corduroy Pencil Skirt, NY&C, $54.95:
All of these picks are simple and stylish and can have a chic look when styled with other simple and classic items. Corduroy is a hot trend right now, and I look forward to sharing other popular fall trends with you all soon. Until next time!
