Today is my 31st birthday, and while I am not sure how I feel about being officially over the age of 30, I thought it would be fun to share 31 fun facts about me. I always love when bloggers share fun facts about themselves because it’s a great way to get to know these strangers you follow everyday, so I wanted to do the same!
1.) My favorite food is by far pizza. I can eat it multiple times a week and not get sick of it.
2.) I am one of four girls..I honestly can’t imagine what it is like to have a brother.
3.) I went to college for Fashion Merchandising.
4.) I met my husband at my first job out of college and we have been together for almost 9 years (married 1.5 years)
5.) I love the color blue. Anything and everything blue.
6.) I live in Pittsburgh but got both engaged and married in San Francisco.
7.) San Francisco and the Bay Area in general is my favorite place to travel to.
8.) If I never had to cook again for the rest of my life I would be happy. I do enjoy baking, though.
9.) I’ve always been a dressy person – in 9th grade, I wore wide leg dress pants and a blouse everyday. I never wore jeans and I still don’t wear them much at all. I feel too casual in them.
10.) I have always been very into the indie/alternative music scene. I usually don’t know any Top 40 hits.
11. As I have said I don’t listen to or like Top 40 music at all really, but I especially dislike Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. I know I am in the minority here.
12. Sufjan Stevens is my all-time favorite singer, and Arcade Fire is my favorite band.
13. I’m not much of a movie person and rarely watch them but my favorite movie is the 80’s classic Sixteen Candles.
14.) Despite being a relatively “girly-girl” I love watching hockey and am a die-hard San Jose Sharks fan. I am very familiar with sports but am not at all athletic myself.
15.) In conjunction with #14, I have seen the Sharks play in 21 different arenas (make it 22 tonight!). Our bucket list is to see them play in all 31 arenas in the league and we plan to complete this next season. Most of our travels are centered around hockey games.
16.) I have a major sweet tooth..candy, cookies, cheesecake, ice cream – I love it all.
17.) I hate musicals but love ballets. My favorite ballet is The Sleeping Beauty.
18.) I work for Target as a Visual Merchandiser. If you have ever noticed that I feature a lot of Target clothing, that’s why.
19.) Christmas is my favorite holiday and working in retail hasn’t totally ruined it for me – yet.
20.) I collect Nutcrackers and have a large collection already.
21.) My guilty pleasure is reality TV. I’m a sucker for Real Housewives even if they are all nuts.
22.) I am a really big DIYer and crafter. I make wreaths and centerpieces and even had an Etsy shop in the past. It is still open and has listings but I don’t actively make items for the shop any longer.
23.) My favorite cocktail is a Ramos Gin Fizz.
24.) I am almost entirely of Eastern European descent. I knew this but I once did an Ancestry kit anyway just to see if anything would come up that I didn’t know about, but mine is 97% Eastern European and very straight-forward. No surprises for me like you see on the commercials!
25.) I prefer online shopping to in-store shopping. I get very specific ideas in my mind of outfits I want and online shopping allows me to find exactly what I need in minutes or even seconds.
26.) I don’t have any tattoos. My sisters all have matching tattoos that say “sister” in Slovak but I refuse to get a tattoo even if it does have sentimental meaning. They still hassle me over it.
27.) I enjoy gift-giving more than receiving gifts. I like to put a lot of thought into gifts and can just about always come up with something that is perfectly suited for the person I am getting a gift for.
28.) My favorite show is Schitt’s Creek..I live for it. I also love watching reruns of The Office and The Golden Girls.
29.) I hate wine. I truly wish I did like it because I feel like it would make life easier if I did, but I can’t drink it without making a disgusted face.
30.) I am a night owl. I stay up late all the time (a big contribution is being a San Jose Sharks fan but living on the east coast – 10:30 PM game start times) and regret it every single morning when my alarm goes off. I snooze my alarm for a full hour before forcing myself out of bed.
31.) My mom wanted to name me Nicolette after Nicolette Sheridan, but my dad vetoed it. Instead they settled on Nicole and I’m bummed about it! Nicolette is much more unique and uncommon.
