Last weekend, I was in New Jersey for a weekend trip with my husband Adam. It was a quick trip, but we were able to spend two days at Ventnor Beach. I wanted a new swim suit for the trip, and I kept finding myself gravitating to classic black suits. Today I am sharing the black bikini I wore, along with four other black bikinis under $100.
One of the most popular trends in swim suits is high-waisted bottoms, and I actually don’t have many of these options in my personal wardrobe. I figured I would give the trend a try, and found these black high-waisted bottoms on Amazon. I liked the rise on these bottoms because it was high enough to give good coverage, but hit below the belly button so it wasn’t too conservative. Another detail on these bottoms that made them look less conservative is the cut outs on the hips. These cut outs not only offer a unique detail but give these full coverage bottoms a sexy detail.
There is no shortage of black bikini tops out there, but I came across this simple top at Target. I like a tie neck top, but I also loved the small cut out with bow on this top. This style is simple and classic but also is very flattering. The top and bottoms look great together and if you need a good coverup option for this suit, then look no further than this white shirt dress from Amazon. There are always summer accessories to coordinate with any swim suit, so I opted for these retro-inspired sunglasses from LOFT and a classic straw hat from Target.

For an affordable option, Old Navy has a great short-sleeved style that offers more coverage but also a stylish look. This top may not be ideal for tan lines, but it’s a great option if you plan on being active in your swim suit or if you are doing some night swimming.
Whether it’s a dress, top, or swimsuit, the one shoulder trend is really popular this year. This top is especially unique because it has a strappy one shoulder with a definite boho vibe. This paired with simple high-waisted bottoms is a stylish option for a beach trip.
For a sophisticated and chic style, this suit from J. Crew is the perfect choice. A flattering balconette style top that features underwire and cup sizing gives this suit a classic style, and paired with high-waisted bottoms that feature a tie waist truly does give it an elegant look.
If you are looking for a less common style of swim top, then give this halter swim top a try. The straps go up near the neck to give it a true halter look, but it comes into a v-neck to still expose some skin. This top looks great with a pair of simple mid rise bottoms that feature a folded waist for a flattering look.
