SWEATER WEATHER

Tis the season in Pittsburgh where the weather is all over the place. Spring is starting to show its face, but there are days where it is still relatively chilly. On days like this, I often will mix my winter and spring wardrobe to create a transitional outfit. It’s not just fall and winter – chilly spring days are also sweater weather.

Sometimes I really love neutral-colored items and when I saw this grid sweater from Chicwish I loved its classic style. This sweater has a shorter and wider fit, which typically is my worst enemy when it comes to clothing, but it actually works in this case. In the winter, I would wear this sweater with skinny pants or jeans and a pair of over-the-knee boots, but for spring I wore it with a pair of girlfriend jeans instead. I bought these jeans last year and this finally was the first time I wore them. Honestly, I forgot I even had them but love how they look with this sweater. These Banana Republic Factory jeans are sold out in this wash, but are available in other washes such as this dark wash. They are so comfortable and have a bit of a relaxed fit but still are slimmer (and more flattering, in my opinion) than boyfriend jeans.

To dress up this outfit and make it suitable for spring, I added black d’orsay heels from Nordstrom Rack, a black belt, and this clutch. I recently bought this clutch from Target and I love it for neutral outfits in spring and summer. The clutch is black, white, but also features straw which makes it perfect for the warm months. It has a removable strap which gives it versatility for any occasion, and for only $20 it’s a steal! For me, accessories can really make an outfit and Target has a great, affordable selection.

Soon the weather will be warm and it will be all spring and summer outfits, but until then I will wear transitional outfits like this. How do you dress in-between seasons? I would love to hear in the comments below!
