BRIGHT COLORS FOR SUMMER

Tropical-inspired outfit

When buying clothing, I don’t really have a color scheme I stick to, besides blues. It is no secret that I love anything blue, but I also do like to buy a lot of neutral colors as well. I love creams and browns and grays, but every now and then, I like to add a fun pop of color to my wardrobe. This outfit is a bit different from my typical look, but I love the bright colors for summer.

I think palm tree prints and other tropical-inspired prints are fun to wear in the summer, whether you are going on vacation to the beach or are wearing it in everyday life. Tropical prints can be styled so many different ways so you can always make it work for your occasion. I spotted this cami blouse at Target recently, and liked the tropical leaf print but also liked the muted colors of the top. The olive color is versatile, and I like the peach tones of the leaves against the olive base shade.

Since the colors of this top are subdued, I decided to pair it with this bright orange eyelet skirt from J Crew Factory. The color of this skirt is bright and perfect for summer, and the eyelet material is lightweight for hot temperatures. The skirt is super stylish because it has an asymmetrical hem and a ruffle at the bottom. I love how this skirt is simple but still has fun details at the same time. I finished the outfit with a pair of nude wedges because I feel that they balance out an otherwise brightly-colored outfit, and they elongate the legs. Unfortunately these wedges are old, but a very similar pair can be found here.

Both items in this outfit can be worn a variety of other ways throughout the summer months. The skirt would look great with neutral-colored simple tops such as white or creams, and the cami can be worn with blue or white jeans, or even a pair of shorts with simple sandals. Versatility is always an important factor to me when buying clothing, and both this top and skirt have it.

I have a mixture of classic, neutral outfits and fun, brightly-colored outfits that I can’t wait to feature on the blog soon. Until next time!
