I never used to think I was a big floral person until I started my blog. Now I look over my content and see that I am apparently a floral person because I have been featuring florals so much lately. While shopping at Banana Republic Factory recently, I spotted this dress and fell in love with the feminine style of the blue and white floral print.
Now that we are in June, it is the season of showers and this past weekend I had a baby shower to attend. I always like wearing dresses to showers so I thought this dress would be perfect. The white and navy floral print has a summery feel, and the off-the-shoulder style is always a favorite of mine. Blue is by far my favorite color (if you couldn’t tell by now) but I also love the look of blue and white floral prints because they are reminiscent of prints and designs found in Eastern Europe. My heritage is entirely Eastern European so I am familiar with those prints and have always liked them. They were always found throughout my grandma’s house on different things my aunt brought back from her Eastern European travels and vacations. This dress stood out to me because I got that same vibe.
This dress has a shift silhouette so it has a very straight fit through the waist and hips. To give my waist more definition, I added a skinny cognac waist belt. The belt also added an accessory to the outfit. I finished the outfit with matching cognac heeled sandals and a pair of navy beaded oval earrings. The outfit was easy to put together but also is very feminine and stylish. Summer is the perfect season to try blue and white floral prints and it is a trend that doesn’t go out of style. Whether you go dressy and wear it in skirt or dress form or go more casual by wearing it in a top form, blue and white floral prints are an easy way to look feminine, light, and airy.
