In high school I cared just as much about fashion and my clothing as I do now. I always was overdressed for school, and often would wear dress pants or dresses on a daily basis. I did have one favorite outfit that I still remember, which featured cropped wide leg pants, a white elbow length sleeved polo with a navy Polo logo, a navy sweater tied around my neck and navy espadrille wedges. I always loved this outfit (and it really fit with the time period of 2006) and I always felt that the shoes made the outfit. When I found these DSW navy espadrille wedges, full 2006 nostalgia kicked in!
Espadrilles come in so many different varieties but my favorite style is the wedge style that ties around the ankle. This style of shoe is so feminine but stylish to me and really can complete an outfit. I find that these shoes are pretty style-specific though, so if you are not into feminine dresses or other feminine styles, then espadrille wedges may not be ideal for you. The navy ones I am wearing in these pictures are from DSW and actually come in three other colors – coral, camel, and black. These wedges are comfortable and easy to walk in, and they are under $50! I wore these wedges with a pink and white gingham apron dress, which is preppy and feminine in style. I also have worn them with shorts and button-down collared shirts, in line with preppy looks.
