I love the color blue and it is by far my favorite color. Honestly, it’s not that I love blue, but I’m actually obsessed with it. When it comes to home decor I lean towards blues. When shopping for clothing I often opt for blue items. It has gotten to the point that I need to force myself to try out another color. I just love a monochromatic blue outfit. Blue everything!
It is is no secret that we are in the dead of winter here in Pittsburgh (you may notice the snow). It is natural to have the winter blues in these parts. I try to combat them with TV binge-watching, re-runs of The Office, watching the few hockey games that are on each week, and some online shopping.
I recently got an email from Gap with a sale so I gave their website a visit. While browsing, I noticed this adorable blue top that is casual but in my mind could be styled a few different ways. And duh, it’s blue! I can be impatient so instead of ordering it, I stopped at the Gap in my neighborhood to give it a closer look.
While there, I also stumbled across these jeans. I actually don’t wear jeans very often – I have less than 5 pairs – but these were on mega-sale. And when I say mega-sale I mean they were only $12.99! Unfortunately, they are not $12.99 on the website so it always pays to visit your local store. I tried them on because I find that the sizing of jeans and pants in general is so inconsistent. I found the fit of the jeans to be very flattering because they are made from their slimming sculpt fabric. The jeans also have a simple style which I like because they can be dressed up or down.
This top can be worn about 6 different ways, but for this outfit I decided to tuck it into jeans and add a cognac belt. I was heading out to grab a few drinks with a friend, so I threw on these camel-colored heels. For accessories, I added a pair of beaded statement earrings along with a burgundy clutch. This top works perfectly in the winter, but in the meantime I will start making plans for it to be worn in the spring. Maybe that will give me another activity to help beat these winter blues.
