TREND ALERT: NAVY AND GREEN TARTAN PLAID

The holidays bring similar trends every year, but one trend that you consistently see around this time is plaid! Plaid can be found at just about every store during the holiday season in clothing and even in home decor. While an array of plaids can be seen, navy and green tartan plaid is extra prevalent this season!

Given my blog name, it is no secret that I lean towards classic styles which includes items such as blazers and prints such as plaid. Of course I had to have a plaid blazer, and was excited when I found this navy and green tartan plaid blazer at J.Crew Factory! The fit is great, the style is perfect and the blazer is great for the holidays and for the winter season in general. I don’t know about you, but I have been seeing this print everywhere so in addition to my blazer, I am also sharing my other top navy and green tartan plaid picks.

Plaid Ruffle-Neck Shirt Dress, Gap

For a dress option, I love this shirt dress from Gap. A shirt dress is always a simple wardrobe staple, but the ruffled neck gives this dress an adorable, elevated detail. You can easily wear this casually with riding boots, or dress it up with a fur vest on top!

Plaid Blouse with Piping, J.Crew Factory

A blouse is always great to have around the holidays if you have any events that require you to be a bit more polished. This blouse could be worn with a skirt, a pair of skinny ankle pants or even leather leggings, or with skinny jeans for more of a casual look.

Skinny Ankle Pants, Gap Factory

I am not a big jeans wearer, so I love skinny pants and particularly skinny ankle pants. I think this style looks refined and flattering, and I love the print on this pair. These pants would look great with a neutral-colored blouse such as white or black and a pair of heels, or even with a camel-colored sweater and ankle boots. Very versatile!

Belted Pea Coat, Nordstrom

I had to include this plaid pea coat for its classic look. A pea coat never goes out of style and this print is more unique than a traditional solid-colored coat. The great thing about this color scheme is it can be worn with black and also brown tones, so you can definitely get a lot of use out of it.

Cozy Plaid Scarf, Gap

A plaid scarf is always a great accessory to have in the winter! This scarf is so soft and it’s great because it can be worn functionally with a coat, but it can also be worn as an accessory with a sweater.

Plaid Flannel Pajama Set, Old Navy

What is better than lounging around in cozy, festive pajamas at night with all of your Christmas lights on? To me, nothing! These pajamas are comfortable and stylish and not only perfect for the holiday season, but also for all winter long.

If you are a lover of plaid, give the navy and green tartan plaid trend a try with one of these picks. Until next time!
