NAVY APRON DRESS

One of my favorite places to shop for items that are casual but still put-together is Gap. In my opinion, Gap is the master of this. They have so many great tops, pants, and in this case dresses that fit the bill. This navy apron dress is a great summer staple!

I am always drawn to blues and the simple style of this navy apron dress was appealing to me for a more relaxed look. Sometimes I love a classic and preppy look and that’s exactly what this is. The dress is made from linen and cotton which are the two fabrics that represent summer best. Midi length dresses are everywhere right now and Gap has tons of them. This dress buttons all the way up (the buttons are functional) and they are a tortoise brown to make it even more summery. One of the best details of this dress is it has pockets, and seriously, what girl doesn’t love a dress with pockets? Honestly, I don’t even use the pockets in a dress but sometimes it is comfortable just to rest your hands in them while wearing a dress. Pockets are always a fun detail! The only downfall of this dress is the fact that it is part linen, and linen usually wrinkles so easily.

This dress could be styled a few different ways depending on your occasion. You could wear it with sandals for a casual style or with a pair of open-toed heels for a dressier look. I wanted a light and summery look, so I wore the dress with these beige woven mules and a pair of beige statement earrings. These mules are another great Target find like most of my shoes are, and they are comfortable and adorable for summer. I finished the outfit with this tan ring bag from Banana Republic Factory, which I have been using non-stop lately. It truly is so versatile and goes with just about every outfit I wear.

More classic summer styles will be featured on the blog, so check back soon. Until next time!
