One of the hottest trends right now is cropped wide leg pants, or culottes. This silhouette of pants is a trendy alternative to skinny or straight pants, and you can find them at just about every store right now. Today’s post I am featuring these navy culotte pants from Banana Republic Factory.
I graduated high school in 2006, so throughout my years of high school I remember wearing cropped wide leg pants often. At the time, my friends and I called them “gauchos” and I had so many different pairs. Everything I wore in high school is currently on-trend again, which is always funny how that works out. I have noticed that it takes me a bit of time to get on-board with some of the same trends I wore in high school. While wide leg cropped pants have been popular for the last year or so, I am just accepting them back into my closet now. I recently spotted these navy culottes at Banana Republic Factory and I decided to try them on because they were on sale at a great price point. As soon as I put the pants on, I remembered why I used to love this style so much in high school because they are so comfortable. Seriously, these pants beat a pair of leggings by far in terms of comfort in my opinion. The knit fabric also makes them really versatile because they can be worn with so many different things.
For this look, I wanted a simple, classic style. I decided to pair the culottes with this tan sweater tank which is also from Banana Republic Factory. I personally love sweater tanks because they are simple and lightweight enough for summer, but the sweater material makes the top look dressier and more put-together than just a traditional knit tank. This top is a great summer staple and also comes in light gray and black. To accessorize the outfit, I added these gold statement bow earrings from Baublebar. These earrings are one of my favorites because the bow shape is feminine and they are also really unique at the same time. The earrings also come in silver which is a great option for an outfit that features more gray tones. I added my go-to circle handle bag as well as a pair of leopard print block heels from Target. The leopard print of the shoes complements the tan top perfectly, and leopard print shoes always add a stylish element to any outfit.
