Today I am sharing another casual summer look. It has been so hot and humid here in Pittsburgh, so having lightweight, breathable clothing has been an absolute must. There is nothing better than cotton and linen for the summer heat so I have been wearing a lot of items featuring these materials. A great item that meets all of this criteria is this aqua green off-the-shoulder summer top.
One of my favorite places to shop for casual looks is Gap. Gap has a casual style but also is stylish and carries items with trendy elements. I have mentioned before that one of my favorite trends is anything that is off-the-shoulder, so that is what initially sold me on this top. I have always loved the color aqua blue because it goes well with my blonde hair and it’s a pretty option for summer. This top has a relaxed fit and is made of 100% cotton, so it is very breathable and lightweight despite having long sleeves. The top is a little more on the sheer side, but I wore it with a nude bra and it was totally fine. If this aqua shade isn’t for you, this top also comes in a rose beige color as well as a pink striped print.
I wore this top with a pair of white linen shorts from J Crew Factory. I have featured these shorts before but they are just so versatile. While simple, their fringed hem gives an adorable detail. The white also looks great against the aqua blue color. I could have kept up the casual look of the outfit by wearing it with a pair of slide-on sandals, but since I always like to dress up an outfit I added these snakeskin heeled sandals. Adding a pair of heels instantly dresses up any outfit, and the snakeskin print of these shoes give a trendy element to an otherwise simple outfit. I added this clutch from Target which is one of my favorite handbags because of its neutral colors – I get a lot of use out of this because of that. This off-the-shoulder summer top can also be worn with a skirt or even a pair of denim shorts.
