Generally, I am not a huge fan of red. I rarely choose to wear a bright red top when going out, but red accessories are a different story. I often like to wear neutral-colored outfits because of their classic look, but a pop of red adds excitement to an otherwise simple outfit, especially in the winter.
These red ankle boots from Target are one of my favorite purchases this season. I love the sleek and slim fit of the boots through the ankles and the pointed toe. I have been wearing these boots with a lot of gray/white/black outfits and it always adds that eye-catching detail I look for in an outfit. I wasn’t lying when I said that berets are my current winter obsession, and this red one that is also from Target has a perfect fit and the same red tone of the boots. I would wear a beret everyday if I could, and this particular one is my favorite.
Since the boots and beret are a bit more on the “bold” side, I decided to wear them with this charcoal gray mock neck sweater dress from Banana Republic Factory. The dress has a thick material and is surprisingly warm and comfortable. It is also available in three other colors which are all perfect for any winter wardrobe. It does have a bit of a straight fit so I added the belt just to add some definition to my waist.
I am headed off to Alberta, Canada in just a few hours. I thought the temperatures were cold in Pittsburgh last week, but where I am headed to will have low temperatures of -26! I am bringing out all of the faux-fur for this trip. Look for travel guides from my trip on the blog soon!
