Do you ever see a certain clothing item on others and think it looks so cute, but you don’t like it for yourself at all? Well, that is me and maxi dresses. I think they look adorable on others, but I never have found one that I liked for myself. Until I saw this blush pink satin dress from Banana Republic. Finally, a maxi dress that I love! And who wouldn’t love wearing satin in spring?
There are a few reasons why I never have liked maxi dresses very much. Many of them are too casual for my taste. I also am more “pear shaped” and I always feel like maxi dresses are unflattering on me. But this maxi dress combats both of those issues for me. The satin material of this dress instantly dresses it up. When wearing this dress, I feel so feminine. Sometimes you put something on and it makes you feel a certain way – that is exactly what this dress did for me. It really is a pretty dress and gives me that same feeling.
In addition to the satin material, the pleats throughout this dress also give it its feminine style. The pleats also make this dress have a more flattering fit. Instead of being straight up and down, the pleats and bottom ruffle break up the dress and avoid any clinginess. If you are familiar with Banana Republic sizing, this dress runs true to size within the brand. I am wearing a size 0 and I am 5’5 and the dress hit right above my ankles. The good news is this dress comes in petite and long lengths so it can work for just about anyone.
This dress can be styled so many different ways for so many different occasions. I added a straw bag, white beaded earrings, and olive green block heeled sandals for this look. You could wear the dress for a date night with fun earrings, sandals, and a straw clutch. This dress would also be perfect to wear to a wedding with nude heels, dressy statement earrings and a neutral-colored clutch.
Dresses like this are why I love Banana Republic. The brand always makes items that really speak to me and relate to my style so well.
