TROPICAL PRINTS

With the warm months coming up, tropical prints are making an appearance in stores right now and I love it! These prints aren’t only for the beach and tropical destinations, but they can be worn anywhere. This navy and pink floral dress from Old Navy is the perfect example of that.

Old Navy has numerous ponte knit sheath dresses available in solid colors and also in subtle prints, but I recently saw this tropical printed one and thought it was so fun. I live in Pittsburgh so it is not exactly the tropics here, but depending on how you style it these prints can work in any climate. This dress is sleeveless, making it perfect for summer, but the weather here has been so unpredictable. One day it is 75 degrees and the next it is 50 degrees. Of course you can always layer a jacket or cardigan over a sleeveless dress on chillier days, but in this situation I layered a pink button-down collared shirt underneath. I like the classic style the shirt underneath gives and of course the coverage. The shirt is also from Old Navy and is just a basic oxford shirt which is such a versatile wardrobe staple.

I have now featured these shoes two other times on the blog, but the fuchsia block heeled sandals from Target were the perfect complement to this outfit. I bought these shoes last year but they are still available in some sizes. They add such a great pop of color to any outfit and they are comfortable and easy to walk in. If you buy any pair of shoes from Target, I suggest buying these because they are that great. This outfit would be great for an office setting, but could also be good for a dinner date or grabbing drinks with girlfriends at happy hour. If I were going to the beach, I would wear this dress with fun sandals, a pair of brightly colored statement earrings and a straw bag.

Old Navy has some stylish and affordable pieces that are fun for summer and I will be sharing more soon. Until next time!
